Jimmy ist der neue Manager der Filiale eines transkontinentalen Gebäude-reinigungskonzerns in einer kleinen Küstenstadt in Maine. Er pocht auf die »Goldene Garantie«, das Versprechen, dass die Böden der Klienten auf Knien geschrubbt werden. Für seine einzige Angestellte Molly ist er eine schwere Bedrohung. Sie, die Geliebte des Ex-Chefs Tommy »the T-Man« und bisher unangefochtene Putzteamleiterin im Sommerhaus von Mrs. Townsend, der einzigen Kundin, kann die »Goldene Garantie« nicht mehr einlösen. Und Claire, die neue Putzpraktikantin, hat es auf Mollys Position als Teamleiterin abgesehen, denn seit ihr Freund nach einer Folterepisode im Irak unehrenhaft aus der Armee entlassen wurde, verdient sie allein das Geld. Nun beginnt ein gnadenloses, von Verrat und Sex getriebenes Intrigenspiel, denn das Jahresmeeting in Augusta steht kurz bevor und kann über Aufstieg und Absturz entscheiden. Dressers bitterböse Komödie erzählt von den absurden Abgründen des Kapitalismus und von zwei Frauen, die versuchen, sich aus dem System zu befreien.
