Yurii Radionov
Born in Bakhmu, Ukraine, in 1987. Early recognition as a breakdancer. He began his theatre career in 2008 at the Young Spectators’ Theatre in Makiivka as an actor and choreographer. He then worked as an actor in Kyiv with the Young Spectators’ Theatre in Lypky, the »Suzirya« Kyiv Academic Workshop of Dramatic Art, the Wild Theatre, the ProEnglish Theatre and the Kyiv State Drama and Comedy Theatre (Left Bank Theatre). After graduating from the Ivan Karpenko-Kary National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, Yurii Radionov presented his directorial debut »AMORphine«, a monodrama in English based on Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel »Morphine«. The performance received many awards, including at international theatre festivals. In 2020, he formed the »Acting HUB«, a physical theatre and acting studio. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Yurii Radionov has been primarily working in the UK, collaborating with the Lowry Theatre in Salford and the Unity Theatre in Liverpool.
