Season Campaign 2026/27 by TOILETPAPER
This season’s publicity campaign has been created by TOILETPAPER. Since 2010, Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari have been publishing the eponymous magazine which consists entirely of staged photographs.
In their work, TOILETPAPER blend photography, design and advertising in a visual style that is as colourful as it is humorous – and frequently grotesque. For the Schaubühne, they have put our ensemble centre stage, portraying each actor in a bespoke way. The backdrops and styling were realised by the Schaubühne’s production departments of set design, costumes, props and hair and makeup. The photoshoot took place in the Schaubühne’s currently (still) temporary venue of Ku’damm 156. This first-ever collaboration between TOILETPAPER and a theatre has resulted in a series of truly striking photographs that capture the positive energy and sheer fun of this special project. As Pierpaolo Ferrari puts it: »What makes Schaubühne unique is their courage to trust the unpredictable. That’s where images stop behaving and start becoming human.«
You can find the pictures of the campaign in the season booklet of the Schaubühne (to be seen hier as PDF) and spread over the season as large billboards in the urban area of Berlin.

Schaubühne Receives Environmental Certificate
Through its measures to improve its environmental performance, Schaubühne has been awarded the EMAS environmental certificate, making it one of the first theatres in Germany to receive this certification. EMAS stands for Eco-Management and Audit Scheme. It is a comprehensive environmental management system based on European standards that aims to continuously improve an organisation’s environmental performance while also taking occupational safety and social responsibility into account. By obtaining the certification, Schaubühne commits to responsible environmental practices and to comprehensive ecological, economic, social and, last but not least, artistic sustainability. We are delighted to receive this certificate and to embrace the responsibility that comes with it.
Renovation of Sanitary Facilities
We would like to inform you that, due to renovation work, the restrooms are currently located in temporary containers outside the Schaubühne. The way there is clearly signposted. The cloakroom remains in its usual location in the basement of the foyer. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
