Season 2025/26

The season will open in September with a new production directed by Thomas Ostermeier, who has turned his attention to another Henrik Ibsen play with »The Wild Duck«, which investigates the role and value of lies. Do we need to lie to ourselves about our lives to be able to live at all?

»The Seer«, directed by Milo Rau, also premieres in September. In collaboration with actress Ursina Lardi, who plays a war photographer in this play, and Azad Hassan, a teacher from Iraq, Milo Rau asks questions such as: What happens to us when we witness the suffering of others and earn money from it?

In October, we’ll be presenting the world premiere of »Paradiesische Zustände« by and with Henri Maximilian Jakobs in our Ku’damm 156 venue. In it, Jakobs tells the story of a transition with plenty of empathy, sharp humour and his own songs.

In »Call me Paris«, Yana Eva Thönnes links the stories of It Girl Paris Hilton and a young girl called Julia from Bergisch-Gladbach, exploring the sexism of the early 2000s. The premiere is also in October.

In Falk Richter’s production »Hannah Zabrisky tritt nicht auf«, an actress does not want to perform and seeks another confrontation with herself and the world. Between dreams, reality, and film scripts from her youth, she races through her inner resistances and triggers a chain of further crises. The premiere is in November.

In her new production »Sabotage«, Yael Ronen examines how we as individuals and as humanity repeatedly harm ourselves. Is self sabotage inherent to us as humans and our societies? We are standing on the brink of disaster, but perhaps that is also the best starting point for something new. The premiere is in December.

We are delighted to welcome Alina Stiegler and Dimitrij Schaad to our ensemble.

Our new campaign for the 2025/26 season was designed by ZEBU, a Berlin-based duo for visual art, who took a look behind our scenes.
