Season Campaign 2026/27 by TOILETPAPER

This season’s publicity campaign has been created by TOILETPAPER. Since 2010, Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari have been publishing the eponymous magazine which consists entirely of staged photographs.

In their work, TOILETPAPER blend photography, design and advertising in a visual style that is as colourful as it is humorous – and frequently grotesque. For the Schaubühne, they have put our ensemble centre stage, portraying each actor in a bespoke way. The backdrops and styling were realised by the Schaubühne’s production departments of set design, costumes, props and hair and makeup. The photoshoot took place in the Schaubühne’s currently (still) temporary venue of Ku’damm 156. This first-ever collaboration between TOILETPAPER and a theatre has resulted in a series of truly striking photographs that capture the positive energy and sheer fun of this special project. As Pierpaolo Ferrari puts it: »What makes Schaubühne unique is their courage to trust the unpredictable. That’s where images stop behaving and start becoming human.«

You can find the pictures of the campaign in the season booklet of the Schaubühne (to be seen hier as PDF) and spread over the season as large billboards in the urban area of Berlin.
