Festival International New Drama
Every spring since 2000 the Festival International New Drama (FIND) has given internationally renowned theatre makers as well as new discoveries the opportunity to show their work at the Schaubühne. Thus, FIND not only brings new theatre from the most diverse linguistic and cultural regions to Berlin for the first time, but over the years the festival has also become a panorama of the most important productions of worldwide theatre creation – always committed to the basic idea of discovering new theatrical forms and texts – be it newly written or collectively developed plays.
The next FIND was to take place from 11 to 22 March 2020, but had to be cancelled due to the corona pandemic.
Since 2011 FIND has been complemented by the »FIND plus« workshop programme which is a forum for acting, directing and dramaturgy students from several European countries and the USA.
FIND in the repertoire
From the international collaboration with playwrights, directors and actors within the framework of FIND emerged the projects and productions, which constitute the focus of the Schaubühne repertoire. The discoveries of the festivals and work on new plays have led to countless world- and German-language premieres in past seasons.
Currently, five productions first presented at FIND are part of our repertoire: I’d rather Goya robbed me of sleep than some arsehole by Rodrigo García and Plastic by Marius von Mayenburg.
