Alex Eales
Set and costume designer. Studied at the Wimbledon School of Art in London. Costume designer for the world premiere of Rona Munro’s »Iron« at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh in 2002. After its run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the production transferred to the Royal Court Theatre in London and the Schauspiel Leipzig. Has since worked chiefly as a set designer for theatre, opera and musicals in England, Scotland and Wales. As is customary in Britain, many of the productions he has designed have toured the country. Longstanding collaboration with Katie Mitchell and joint projects with her in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Cologne, Berlin and Hamburg, at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, the English National Opera, the studio stage of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. Invited to be set designer of the 2015 Salzburg Festival.
