Annika Meier

Born in Berlin in 1981. Member of the Schaubühne ensemble since season 2019/20. Studied from 2002 to 2006 drama at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock. First engagement at Luzerner Theater, where she played in »The Glass Menagerie« (direction: Jürgen Kruse, 2006) and »The Tempest« (direction:  Christina Friedrich, 2008). Followed artistic director Peter Carp to Theater Oberhausen in 2008. Besides that, she worked at Hebbel am Ufer/HAU, Schauspielhaus Dortmund, Thalia Theater, Oper Zürich and founded the collective HappyEndCompany. From 2012 on, she worked at the Volksbühne with Herbert Fritsch in numerous plays such as »Murmel Murmel« (2012), »Ohne Titel Nr. 1« (2014), »der die mann« (2015) und »Pfusch« (2016), all of which were invited to Theatertreffen. She was member of the ensemble of Berliner Ensemble from 2017 to 2019. Besides theatre, she worked for TV and Film, e. g. in »Der Tatortreiniger« (direction: Arne Feldhusen, 2015) und »Magical Mystery oder: Die Rückkehr des Karl Schmidt« (direction: Arne Feldhusen, 2017), for which she received the award Neues Deutsches Kino as best actress.
