Christian Tschirner

Born 1969 in Lutherstadt-Wittenberg. Since the 2019/20 season he is head of dramaturgy at the Schaubühne. He was trained as an animal keeper at Leipzig Zoo, did his A-levels at night school and then studied acting at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst »Ernst Busch« in Berlin. From 1995 to 1999 he was engaged as an actor at Schauspiel Frankfurt. From 1999 to 2002 he directed and acted at the Theater am Turm (TaT) in Frankfurt. Since 2002 he worked as a freelance director and author in Frankfurt/Main, Mannheim, Halle/Saale, Bochum, Vienna, Braunschweig and Stuttgart. 2009 to 2013 dramaturg and director at Schauspiel Hannover, 2013 to 2018 dramaturg at Deutsches SchauSpielHaus Hamburg.
