Ingo Hülsmann

Born in Stuttgart, member of the ensemble from the 2012/13 till the 2016/17 season. Studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt/Main. First engagement at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin in 1987. Further engagements at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Burgtheater Wien, the Hamburger Kammerspielen, the Berliner Ensemble, the Residenztheater München and the Volkstheater Wien. From 2001 to 2012 member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. Collaborations with directors such as Michael Thalheimer, Jürgen Gosch, Nicolas Stemann, Hans Neuenfels, Thomas Ostermeier and Ruth Berghaus. He debuted as a director for the Deutsches Theater Berlin in 2007 with his production of »Mobil« by Sergi Belbel, followed by his production of »Karl und das 20. Jahrhundert« in 2014 based on a novel by Rudolf Brunngraber (text and direction: Ingo Hülsmann). Alongside this, he has acted in several film and television productions, including »Die letzte Instanz« (Direction: Carlo Rola, 2013), »Inga Lindström ─ Die zweite Chance« (Direction: Martin Gies, 2014) and »Die Spezialisten – Im Namen der Opfer« (Direction: Nicolai Rohde, 2015). He received the Friedrich-Luft-Preis as well as Nestroy-Preis in 2002. Furthermore, in 2005 he was awarded the Goldene Maske and received the award for best actor at the theatre festival Poland.
