Isabelle Redfern

Born in Munich in 1976. Studied acting and music at Musikhochschule Hannover and Universität der Künste Berlin. Engagements at Burgtheater in Wien (»Geächtet« by Ayad Akhter, Direction: Tina Lanik, 2016, awarded the Nestroy-Theaterpreis 2017), Münchner Kammerspiele (»Mittelreich« after the novel by Josef Bierbichler, Direction: Anta Helena Recke, 2017, invited to Theatertreffen 2018, awarded the ITI Preis 2019) and Thalia Theater (»POEtry« by Robert Wilson and Lou Reed, Direction: Robert Wilson, 1999), as well as Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Staatstheater Hannover and Residenztheater München, among others. In cinema and television, she could be seen in »Schoßgebete« (Direction: Sönke Wortmann, 2013), the television film »Papa und die Braut aus Kuba« (Direction: Thorsten Schmidt, 2015), »Letzte Spur Berlin« and »Ein Fall für Zwei« (Direction: Thomas Nennstiel, 2017/18). Besides her activity as actress she is a mezzo-soprano, as chorister at Bayreuther Festspiele 2010/11, for »Tristan und Isolde« (Prater/Volksbühne, Direction: Franziska Kronfoth, 2009), and »Morgen früh, wenn Gott will … Britten, Opus 41« (Sophiensaele, 2014), as well as »Brehms Frauenleben, Schumann Op.42« (Ballhaus Naunynstraße 2013) directed by herself, together with her ensemble MamaNoSing.
