Jonas Hassen Khemiri

Born in 1978 in Stockholm. Studied economics and literary studies in Stockholm and Paris. Khemiri had his debut as a novelist with »One Eye Red« (2003) which received considerable and also international attention, followed by his second novel »Montecore: The Silence of the Tiger« (2006). His first play »Invasion!« (Director: Farnaz Arbabi, 2006) was commissioned by the Stockholm City Theatre. Other plays and novels by Khemiri are, among others, »The Hundred We Are« (2009), »Apathy for Beginners« (2011) and »I Call My Brothers« (2013), »Everything I don’t Remember« (2015). Khemiri has received, among others, the Borås Tidnings Award for the Best Literary Debut Novel (2004), the Per Olov Enquist Literary Prize (2006) and the August Literary Prize (2015) which is one of the most prestigious literary awards in Sweden.
