Michael Rowalska

Born in Hildesheim, lives and works in Berlin. Percussion studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin with Jerry Granelli, Rolo Rodriguez and David Friedman. Musically versatile in classical orchestral drums, swinging jazz and big band drumming and Latin percussion. Directs the Berlin Cool Jazz Project (BCJP) as drummer and plays with the swing formations Dukish Vagabonds/Kind Of Dukish, the Casanova Society Orchestra and Manuel von Eden. Sideman and sub-drummer in various bands and orchestras, such as Swing Dance Orchestra, Capital Dance Orchestra. Activities as a theater musician at the Staatsoper Hanover, at the Berliner Ensemble (»Dreigroschenoper«), Volksbühne Berlin (»Ohne Titel Nr. 1«, »der die mann«), TIPI am Kanzleramt (»Frau Luna«), Wintergarten Varieté (»Sayonara Tokyo«), Neukölln Opera (»Piraten«, »Weintraub Syncopators«), Admiralspalast, Theater Am Potsdamer Platz (»Blue Man Group«), Theater am Kurfürstendamm. As a film musician to be heard in the trailer of the TOBIS film distribution.
