Alice Babidge

Costume and set designer in film and television, theatre and opera. She regularly works with director Simon Stone, e.g. in »Yerma« with the Young Vic and at the Schaubühne, in »Hotel Strindberg« at the Burgtheater Vienna and in »Peer Gynt« at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg. Other highlights include »The Maids« at STC, directed by Benedict Andrews, starring Cate Blanchett, Isabelle Huppert and Elizabeth Debicki and »Groß und Klein« starring Cate Blanchett in 2011. Alice’s feature film credits include the Netflix film »The Dig« directed by Simon Stone starring Ralph Fiennes and Carey Mulligan and »Nitram« directed by Justin Kurzel which premiered at the film festival in Cannes this year. She has recently completed »Disappointment Blvd.«, directed by Ari Aster, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Ryan. Short films include Simon Stone’s »Reunion«. She has designed music video clips for The Mess Hall, You Am I, The Vines and End of Fashion, fashion shoots, magazine covers and TVCs.
For the Broadway version of »Yerma« the production won a special OBIE award. For »Hotel Strindberg« she won the 2018 Nestroy Award for Best Set & Costume Design.
