Annelies Vanlaere

Born in 1976 in Tielt, Belgium. She completed a teaching degree in plastic arts in Bruges and studied costume design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. From 2003 to 2006 she was a costume assistant at the Thalia Theater Hamburg. Since 2006 she has worked as a costume and set designer, among others at Burgtheater Wien, Staatsoper Wien and Bayerische Staatsoper München, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Schauspiel Hannover, Schauspiel Köln, Toneelgroep Amsterdam, TR Warszawa, Theater Basel, Residenztheater München as well as at the Thalia Theater Hamburg. Nominated for the Nestroy Prize in 2020 with her costumes for »Der Kirschgarten« (director: Amélie Niermeyer) at the Theater in der Josefstadt Wien.
