Clara Weyde

Born in Starnberg, she studied communication and political science as well as political communication in Munich and Berlin. She was involved in development cooperation projects in Guatemala, India, China and Germany. From 2009 to 2011, she was assistant director at Theater Bremen. She then studied directing at Theaterakademie Hamburg. She has directed productions at the Staatstheater in Hanover, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Schauspielhaus Graz, Junges Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Theater Bonn and at the Kampnagel in Hamburg. Together with Clemens Leander and Bastian Lomsché, she has been director of the drama division at Theater Magdeburg since the 2022/23 season. Her accolades include the Start Off Prize in 2015 and the Rolf Mares Award and the Berganus Prize of the Friends of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, both in 2016.

From the 2022/23 season, she will take over the theatre directorate at Theater Magdeburg together with Clemens Leander and Bastian Lomsché.
