José Miguel Jiménez González

Born 1980 in Chile. Actor, director, filmmaker and video designer based in Dublin. Theatre graduate from Universidad de Chile and Trinity College Dublin. Associate artist to Project Arts Centre under the CATALYST scheme. Co-founder and visual content creator for the artist led initiative DRAFF, an international magazine focused on dance and theatre. Founder of the Irish theatre company The Company, with whom he directed, amongst others, »Who is Fergus Kilpatrick?« (Dublin Fringe Festival, 2009), »As you are now so once were we« based on James Joyce’s Ulysses (Dublin Fringe Festival, 2010, Prize for Best Production) and »Politik« (Dublin Theatre Festival, 2012). Collaborations with theatre, dance and visual artists, including »Medicated Milk«, a film based on the life of Lucia Joyce in collaboration with Aine Stapleton, screened at the Irish Film Institute as part of the First Fortnight Festival 2016. His documentary film »See the Man« was nominated for Best New Doc at Tempo Dokumentärfestival 2017 in Stockholm and received the main award at the Light Moves Festival of Screendance 2017 in Limerick. Irish Times 2018 Theatre Award nominee for his video design in »Hamnet«, a co-production of Dead Centre and Abbey
