Julia Schubert

Julia Schubert

Born in Leipzig in 1982. Studied acting from 2003-2007 at the Academy for Music and Theatre in Rostock. 2006 Solopreis at the National competition for German-speaking acting students in Munich. First engagement at the Grips Theatre Berlin (2007-2009). Afterwards member of the ensembles of Theater Magdeburg (2009-2012) and Schauspiel Dortmund (2012-2018) where she appeared in numerous roles, e.g. in Kay Voges' productions »Peer Gynt«  by Henrik Ibsen and »The Celebration«  as well as in the German premiere of Rainer Werner Fassbinder's »World on a Wire« and »Scenes from a Marriage« after Ingmar Bergman (both directed by Claudia Bauer). In Dortmund also first directorial work with »Secret heroes - anatomy of an open plan office« (2016). Further cooperation with Kay Voges at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg (»Blindness«), at the Volksbühne Berlin (»Don’t be Evil«) and furthermore at the Schauspiel Dortmund.
