Magda Willi
Employed at the Schaubühne from 2005 to 2008, engagements as freelance set and costume designer since 2008. Born in Zurich. Studied set and costume design at Central St Martins College of Art and Design in London where she also worked as an assistant and on independent projects. Assistant set designer at the Schaubühne in 2004, beginning her longstanding collaboration with Benedict Andrews. From 2013 to 2018, head set and costume designer at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. Has worked at Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Theater Basel, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, the Ruhrtriennale festival, Young Vic London, with the TurboPascal independent theatre group in Berlin and at the Bayerische Staatsoper. Close collaborations with Yael Ronen, Nurkan Erpulat and Sebastian Nübling. Accolades: 2015 Swiss Design Award, invitation to the 2011 Theatertreffen in Berlin with two productions: »Crazy Blood« (directed by Nurkan Erpulat) and »Don Carlos« (directed by Roger Vontobel).
