Marc Freitag

Born in Berlin. 1990 graduated as a state-approved fashion designer at the Lette-Verein Berlin, 1994 apprenticeship as a pattern maker for cutting and production at the Akademie Mode Design in Hamburg (AMD). Since 1995 working as a freelance costume and fashion designer. Since 2007 working as studio manager and costume assistant for Stephan Dietrich for various opera productions, including the Herrenhausen Festival in Hanover and the Handel Festival in Göttingen. In addition, production of costumes for festivals, musicals and film productions. He also works for Berlin theatres, including the Schaubühne and the Komödie am Kurfürstendamm. Since 2017 he has been making headwear, including in productions by Herbert Fritsch for Victoria Behr. Works as costume designer for the Tanzfabrik Berlin, the Brechtfestival Augsburg (2017) and independent theatre groups; at the Schaubühne, among others for »Bunny« (director: Christoph Schletz, 2012) and the 11-part series »Wengenroths Autorenklub« (director: Patrick Wengenroth). Styling and costume design for videos by the musicians Pari San and Matthias Arfmann (director: Zoran Bihac), as well as for the Schaubühne season campaigns by Paolo Pellegrin (2017/18) and John Bock (2019/20). Costume design for the play »Gundermann« (director: Patrick Wengenroth, 2020) at the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin.
