Matthias Schellenberg

Filmmaker and cameraman, lives in Berlin. Born in 1967 in Konstanz, grew up in Heidelberg. Studied architecture in Aachen and film and television at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.
Became known for his camera work in the films »Das weiße Rauschen« (»The White Sound«, nomination for the German Camera Award), »Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei« (»The Edukators«) and »Kroko«, all three of which received the German Film Award in silver, among others. Works for feature films, television films, documentaries, theatre and advertising. For the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, staging of »Neues von der deutschen Sharon« and »Du verwechselst sogar Deine Leben. Ingeborg Bachmann and Max Frisch destroy themselves in literature« together with Andreas Schimmelbusch.
At the Schaubühne, visual director for »Professor Bernhardi« (2016) and »oedipus« (2021). Together with Andreas Nickl, he has accompanied the worldwide tours of the Schaubühne-production »An Enemy of the People« since 2014 and made the documentaries »›An Enemy of the People‹ on Tour« and »›An Enemy of the People‹ in China«, among others.
