Michaela Barth
Born in Munich. She grew up in Skikda, Algeria, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and in the Bergisches Land. After training as a ladies’ tailor, she studied fashion design at the Berlin University of the Arts (formerly HdK). She worked for many years on productions of the homeless theater Ratten 07 and the prison theater AufBruch at Tegel Correctional Facility. Since 2000, she has maintained an intensive collaboration with Michael Thalheimer. As a costume designer, she has worked at Deutsches Theater Berlin, Dramaten Teater Stockholm, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Residenztheater Munich, Theater Basel, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Schauspiel Leipzig, as well as for the Bayreuth Festival, Hamburg State Opera, Vlaamse Opera Antwerp, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Grand Théâtre de Genève, and Deutsche Oper Düsseldorf.
