

Sarah Kohm
Born and raised in Berlin. After a Bachelor's degree in Journalism/Communication Sciences, she started to study Music Theatre Direction at the HfMT Hamburg in 2014.
During her studies she brought several plays to the stage, among them Astor Piazzolla's Tango-Operita »Maria de Buenos Aires«, as well as Béla Bartók's »Bluebeard's Castle« at the Opera Stabile of the Hamburg State Opera. In 2015 she enacted the music theatre course »Germania – Eine Geisteraustreibung (Germania – A Ghost Exorcism)« at the Akademie der Künste Berlin in collective direction with students of the Universität der Künste Berlin and Hochschule für Musik Hanns-Eisler Berlin. Parallel to her studies she worked as an assistant at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Theater Bremen and the Komische Oper Berlin. From 2016 to 2019 Sarah Kohm was a full-time assistant director at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz – working together with Milo Rau, Herbert Fritsch, Marius von Mayenburg, Thomas Ostermeier and several others. Between May and October 2019, she also held the position of Artistic Production Management at the Schaubühne.
From 2021-2023 she is a scholarship holder in the directing section of the Akademie Musiktheater heute of the Deutsche Bank Foundation.
