Ulla Willis

Ulla Willis (*1989 somewhere in Bavaria) is a stage and costume designer and currently Head of Set and Costume Design at the Schaubühne. She studied philosophy and literature in Würzburg as well as interior architecture with a focus on scenography at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. After graduating, she worked as an assistant at the Schaubühne Berlin, the Comédie-Française in Paris, and the Festival International d’Art Lyrique in Aix-en-Provence. From 2023 to 2025, she headed the design department of the Schaubühne Studio. She designs stage sets and costumes for institutions including the Schaubühne Berlin, the Münchner Kammerspiele, Theater Magdeburg, Schlosstheater Moers, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and the Berliner Philharmoniker. The production »Stolpern« was invited to the 2023 Theatertreffen der Jugend, and the production »Undine geht« was selected for the Summer Up Festival. She collaborates closely with lynn t. musiol and Elisa Leroy.
