Festival International New Drama (FIND) cancelled
After the acute situation caused by COVID-19 has significantly increased in recent days, the Berlin Senate Department of Culture today decided to temporarily suspend performances in the larger venues of Berlin's theatres from March 11 to April 19.
For this reason, the Schaubühne has decided, with deep regret, to cancel this year's FIND Festival 2020. The premiere of "The Apes" will be taking place as planned.
A festival like FIND thrives upon the productions that are shown, the encounters and exchanges between the audience and the artists, and between the international guest groups themselves, and the opportunity to experience and explore new forms of theatre for ten days. The presence of a wide range of audience members from many countries of the world and the tight FIND schedule will result in more than 1,000 visitors to the theatre. Following the instructions of the cultural authorities on how to deal with the virus under the present circumstances, we therefore cannot ensure these safety measures. For this reason there is unfortunately no alternative, but to cancel.
Nevertheless, the premiere of the production "The Apes" by Marius von Mayenburg on 11 March 2020 on stage C with 270 seats will be shown as scheduled. Further information concerning the concrete programme will be published as soon as possible.
Visitors have the opportunity to return tickets for cancelled events. Please direct any requests for refunds or changes in bookings to our box office at 030 890023 or ticket@schaubuehne.de
