Lonely Lives
by Gerhart Hauptmann
Direction: Friederike Heller
Johannes Vockerat lives by Müggelsee Lake near Berlin and pursues his studies with obsessive idleness. His young wife Käthe and his new-born child do not give his life any real meaning. When the beautiful and emancipated Anna Mahr encroaches into the family idyll near Berlin, she is completely unaware of her destructive influence on all its members.
