Wie wir werden

Since October 2025, nine young people have been meeting as part of a collaboration between the Junge RambaZamba Theater and the Schaubühne, guided by theatre educators Lara Michel and Lillian Bocksch, dance educator Fernando Balsera Pita, and music educator Sebastian Faust. Together, they explore questions of freedom, courage, insecurity, and the longing for that moment when »everything just fits.«

The search for one’s own identity is rarely easy, especially in a world shaped by a political shift to the right, the climate crisis, and growing marginalisation. What begins as a personal exploration quickly expands into a social and political question: Who can we be in this world? And could it be that we ourselves are the heroes capable of making change possible? One thing the group knows for sure: »Something is wrong.«

The performers, queer and non-queer, with and without disabilities, search for the cracks beneath the smooth surface of what is considered »normal.« They resist the logic of categorisation and explore the political and personal potential of being different. Between poetic metaphors and hazy memories, a form of resistance emerges that moves “queerly” across all expectations, and keeps moving.
