When does the advance ticket sale start?
The advance ticket sale for the following month begins on the 1st of every month at the box office during our regular opening hours (Monday to Saturday from 11am to 6.30pm, on Sundays and public holidays from 3pm to 6.30pm). If the 1st is a bank holiday, the advance ticket sale begins on the following day. Members of the Friends of the Schaubühne can buy their tickets three (sponsor) or two (friend) days before the regular advance sale starts.
The programme will be published online a few days before the pre-sale starts.
Which payment methods will be accepted at the box office and online?
You can pay online via Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, with credit card (Mastercard, VISA or American Express) and with bank transfer via giropay. If you purchase your tickets at the box office, you can pay cash, via EC card (Maestro), credit card or Apple Pay.
How do I get my tickets?
Tickets purchased online can be printed at home or be made available as an E-Ticket for your wallet on your smartphone.
And of course you can also pick up your tickets directly at our ticket office. For printing and processing tickets purchased in the webshop for collection at the cash desk, we will charge a service fee of 2 euros per order. You can also choose to collect them at the box office in person or have the tickets sent to you for a fee of 4,00 €.
I haven’t received my tickets or have lost them. What do I do now?
If you have lost your tickets or haven’t received them in the mail, we can issue replacement tickets at the box office on presentation of the order confirmation and/or your ID card on the evening of the respective booked performance.
Can I return purchased tickets?
Neither the return nor an exchange of tickets are possible. There is also no compensation for expired tickets. In the case of the cancellation of a performance on our part, purchased tickets may be returned and the ticket price will be refunded.
On Facebook, however, we have a group in which members of our audience exchange or sell tickets. Please note: It is not allowed to resell tickets at a profit.
I need an invoice, what do I have to do?
In the case of online bookings, a proper invoice cannot be issued afterwards. If you need an invoice, please book your tickets via our box office on 030-890023 or email@example.com.
My coupon has expired ...
Please contact us via phone at our box office on 030-890023. Expired vouchers can no longer be redeemed online, but we will accept them if you book via phone.
Can I book reduced tickets online?
Pupils, students, unemployed persons, apprentices, FSJers and severely disabled persons and their companion can buy reduced tickets directly in the webshop. Other reductions cannot be booked online. To book a reduced ticket online, please select the discount type for each individual ticket. Please present the appropriate ID when picking up the tickets at the box office as well as when entering the space on the respective evening.
From four weeks before the performance, reduced tickets can be bought in every category if available, until then tickets in the price ranges 1 and 2 are excluded from the discount. But don’t worry, you can see well from every seat in the house.

How can I book discounted tickets for wheelchair users?
Wheelchair users will receive a 50% discount on tickets for themselves and their companion. A reservation of tickets in our webshop is unfortunately not possible, but we will give priority to your ticket requests. Where can I ask for lost property?
All lost property is passed on to stage door and usually arrives there one to two days after the performance. If you have lost anything in one of our spaces, please call 030-890020.
Am I allowed to film or take photos during the performance?
Taking photos, making film, video and audio recordings are prohibited during the performance. Violations are punishable under copyright laws. Before the performance and during the applause, you are welcome to take pictures and videos, and we are also happy if you share them with #schaubühne on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Is there a cloakroom or a place where I can leave my clothes and bags?
The foyer opens at least 45 minutes before the start of the performance. In the downstairs foyer you will find cloakroom lockers, for which you need a deposit of 2,00 €. Please store away your bags, backpacks, jackets and coats. If you do not have a € 2 coin at hand, our foyer staff will gladly exchange money for you. Please leave larger luggage at home as we have limited capacity to store these items.
The studio has free coat racks.
The performance I want to see is sold out. Is there still a chance to get tickets?
It always happens that customers cancel their reservations. So it’s worth checking our website from time to time. If you’re lucky, tickets for your chosen show may have just been made available again.
There is always the chance that tickets that have already been reserved will not be picked up on the evening of a sold-out performance at the box office. Tickets that have been released from these unclaimed reservations will then go on sale shortly before the start of the performance. One hour before the start of the performance, we issue waiting numbers at the box office. The tickets that have become available are then sold in the order of these waiting numbers. In case of big crowds, we reserve the right to limit the number of tickets to two tickets per customer.
Are there trigger warnings for certain productions?
We don’t want to spoil anyone’s experience of a new play at the Schaubühne and therefore avoid giving too much away when promoting the play. It’s often the unexpected shared moments and plot twists that capture the audience and create a debate and conversation beyond the performance.
However, we’re also conscious that these moments can be particularly distressing for some individuals.
